Not Everyone Loves Weddings

Well people, I didn’t think I’d be writing a column like this one, because quite candidly I never imagined I’d be this old. This week’s material is going to be a little bit of a shock, and I am already making a guess that a small number of you will be smiling when I tell you what it is, so off we are going.

Isn’t that just amazing? Are you able to imagine somebody as young as I having a soon-to-be married daughter? I presumed not. Will and I have both already vetted him out, and he passes each test, heck, it’s nearly like he is a Williams already.

He likes to eat Nu-Way hot dogs, appreciates watching the Rocky Balboa pictures again and again again, and is simply a real, all around good guy.

I am fortunate to be having him as a future son-in-law, and he’s going to be just that on June ten, 2006. And, as happy as I am about that, I have gotta admit that there a couple of things about these pending marriage that I am just not understanding, among them are:. I kid y’all not, this marriage is over 12 months away, and the planning for it has started. When I asked in particular what a marriage director is for, I was told, “To direct the marriage, silly.”. Any way, perhaps I am missing something, but what’s there to direct? The bible thumper stands up in the refuge in the middle of the church and waits. Another thing that I do not understand is why we need to find a place to have the reception and also find somebody to cater it? That makes fully no sense to me at all. Then, after the wedding rite was over everybody who needed to could stop by for two juicy Nu-Ways.

I absolutely support what they are doing, so I assume I may have to take all this rite crapola together with it. And wait, I have just been alerted that I must wear a tux for this thing – a tux.

I would prefer to manually remove a tick from an ape’s heiny than have to wear a tux, and that is me being seriously, actually low-keyed about it. People , I have gotta go now, I am about to do some major cussin’ and query askin’ here, and hopefully I should be finished before the week after next’s column should be written.
